Alongside scientific project partners, ECT is leading the drone operations on a conservation project to rid an island of rats in the Pacific Ocean. The project has commenced with mapping 800ha of the atoll using ECT’s mapping drone with resolution down to <2cm per pixel and high accuracy from ground control points. Secondly, ECT then conducted aerial baiting using heavy-lift drones and specialist dispersal systems over trial areas to measure bait uptake. With these results, the eradication implementation is planned for later in 2020.
