Aerospace Mechanical Design Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Aerospace Mechanical Design Engineer who can assist in our unmanned helicopter development program. This full-time position is based at Envico’s R&D premises in Mount Maunganui, Tauranga. The project requires an Engineer who has a depth of knowledge yet is highly proactive and a self-starter.

As a minimum, successful candidates will have:

  • Degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.

  • 5 years’ experience in aircraft design.

  • Experienced in helicopter design and/or testing.

  • Highly proactive and able to work autonomously.

  • Highly capable in technical hands-on work.

  • Excellent skills in CAD 3D modelling.

Preferable skills include:

  • Experience with UAV/RPAS/drones

  • Experience with ultralight or small helicopters.

  • Experience with flight testing.

UAV Control Systems Engineer

We are looking for a UAV Control Systems Engineer who can assist with our unmanned helicopters programme. The Engineer will be required to develop control systems on the UAVs, assist in test flights, conduct pre-flight testing and post flight analysis.  

This role would be a full-time position based at Envico's premises in Mount Maunganui, Tauranga.

A successful candidate will have:

  • Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar engineering field.

  • Experience building and programming rotary UAVs.

  • Experience flying UAVs.

  • Experience with various autopilot software.

  • Good servo knowledge and skill in programming.

  • Ability to work independently as well as be a good team player.

  • Ability to think creatively and problem solve.
